THE HIGHLIGHT REELbest, worst, and most recent take — at a glance.
BEST TAKEJAN 12, 2026

Tonight is a tough one to critique Herbert on. He was under siege the entire night, and most of the season… Still, it’s three post season games and he’s underperformed in every one of them. At some point he has to show he’s more than a very talented regular season QB!

Herbert's third playoff appearance, a 16-3 loss to the New England Patriots on January 12, 2026, further cemented his poor postseason record. He completed just 19 of 31 passes for 159 yards, zero touchdowns, was sacked six times, and lost a fumble — resulting in a career postseason passer rating of just 64.7 across three games. He remains 0-3 in the playoffs with no deep run, fully validating Ryan Clark's take.

I love the Jones family. They know how to make news! Stephen Jones did not have to announce to the world that the @dallascowboys would not negotiate with George Pickens, but if I know them it was with intention. It’s a signal that Dallas’ draft could consist of a wide receiver beings drafted & George Pickens being moved! This team needs to improve in so many ways. They’ve now added to the draft intrigue. #FirstTake #GeorgePickens #DallasCowboys #StephenJones #NFLDraft

The Cowboys did draft a wide receiver (Anthony Smith, ECU, pick #218 in the 7th round), satisfying condition one — though it was a deep depth pick rather than a meaningful signal. However, George Pickens was NOT traded during the draft; he signed his franchise tag and remained on the Cowboys roster, with Stephen Jones explicitly stating no trade intention. The take's core thesis — that the announcement was a signal of a Pickens trade — proved false.

At least two of the 3rd year QBs will be top 5 in the MVP conversation next year. 2024 draft can be an epic QB draft class.

Jeremiyah Love is the best player in the 2026 draft. He was the best player in college football last year, & I got to witness it person every single week in 2024. He has it all… burst, power, long speed, toughness, & agility. We’ll mention his with CMC, Saquon, Bijan, Henry, & Gibbs. He will do it the right way, because his folks raised a dog! Can’t wait to see who gets a star in @JeremiyahLove come draft night. The combine numbers just match the tape. @ThePivot #RCconfessionals #ThePivot #JeremiyahLove #NFLDraft #NFLCombine

Cam Newton pointed out the trend of Coaches being fired then QBs finding new teams… Well that’s not happening on Baltimore. Lamar is there to stay. A large part of why Jesse Minter was hired is because Lamar Jackson has fallen short of the Super Bowl, but he took the job because Lamar is a future Hall of Fame signal caller! Lamar had to be better in that big moments. Minter has to improve the defense, & Eric DeCosta has to build a better supporting cast. Time is now! #LamarJackson

Neither Lamar Jackson nor Josh Allen’s greatness will be realized until they win a Chip or retire. Social media have you believe that Lamar & Josh fans the other. When the truth is, they just hate us that talk about it. They’ve always been covered differently. Lamar has had regular seasons, & Josh more playoff success. They’ve both fallen short of a ring, & that’s why both are looking for new coaches now. They play for the perfect fan bases, but if they were switched Bills’ Mafia would love Lamar and Ravens’ flock would love Josh. It’s us the media who needs to do better! @THEpivot clips on @youtube. #ThePivot #JoshAllen #LamarJackson #NFL #Podcasts
